I have been so busy testing and getting this wonderful class ready for third grade I have neglected my blog.  Here are some pictures that make me smile!  I love this group!

Wear Blue and Green day!

Image result for school

School Colors Day:
Wednesday, April 6 is School Colors Day.
Everyone will be wearing blue and green (and, of course, the UMS t-shirt is acceptable attire).

March

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have posted pictures or talked about the happenings in Room 11.  It has been a very busy month!  We had the Circus Smirkus reidency, we finished a unit on balance and motion and then spent quite a bit of time following and learning about he Iditarod.  It has been a busy but fun month.  Enjoy the pictures!

Circus Smirkus!

School Residency Performance!

Showtime: 6:30pm, Friday, March 18th

Student arrival time: 6:15pm – meet teacher in gym

Location: Colchester High School
                                        Gymnasium

We’re on TV: We were lucky enough to have Fox 44 news come film our students working on their circus skills. Check out the broadcast on Friday Morning at 5:40am, 6:40am, or 7:40am

What to wear: Students should wear a lightweight shirt, sneakers and dark pants or leggings. This is ideal, but clothing should not be purchased specifically for the performance. Students will be performing acrobatics and physical skills; clothing needs to be something they can move in. Please do not wear skirts, dresses, costumes, wigs or makeup.
All teachers will be in the gymnasium when students arrive at the high school at 6:15pm. Tie-dye t-shirts will be distributed by your student’s classroom teacher at the performance. This is the only costume piece your child needs for the performance.

Parking: There are multiple events at the high school on Friday evening. If the parking lot is full, please use the middle school lot. Plan accordingly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

100th Day of School

What a fun day we had together!  We colored 100 day crowns.  We read 100 Hungry Ants by Elinor J. Pinches and then made large ant arrays.  We wrote about having a $100 and then everyone got a large $100 bill.  Lastly, we made 100 piece puzzles and ate 100 Calorie snacks.  Ask your child what their favorite part of the day was.

January Surprise

It is always fun to do something out of the ordinary on a cloudy January day.  This morning at 9:10 the whole school stopped what they were doing and danced to YMCA.  We then ended the day with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

DARE

Today was our first lesson with Officer Fontaine.  Students reviewed personal safety.  Please ask your child what types of personal safety tips we talked about.
