100th Day

Hurrah for the 100th Day of 2nd Grade!
We made ant arrays of 100 and we made 100 piece puzzles!

Cards of Kindness

Today Room 11 made cards for a young woman who fell in December and is now paralyzed.  We are sending her happy hearts to decorate her walls and hopefully bring a smile to her heart!

 

Champ Band Day Celebration / Motion

Room 11 had another fun filled week!  We made tops, twirlers and zoomers and learned that in order to get any of these objects to move, we needed a force (push or pull). 
We filled our Champ Band Bin and celebrated with pj's and stuffed animals today. 

Balance

This week we started our new science unit on Balance.  Students learned that when something is balanced it is in a stable position.  Students also discovered that counterweights can help an object balance.  Here are pictures of us balancing a crayfish, a triangle and an arch.  We are having so much fun!

Holiday Celebration

Our holiday party was a success!  It was filled with food, friends, and fun!  I want to thank everyone for sending in food and supplies to help make our party possible.  I also want to send a shout out to Cush Helfrich (Reid's dad) for organizing and running the gingerbread man craft.  It was a big hit!
